Rotterdam proved to have an extensive sustainable network at the CleanDrinks event on the 5th of November. More than 200 sustainably-minded people came together at the home of ecologically responsible caterer Eethiek, to drink, make connections and dance.
The program of events was kicked-off in spectacular style by Gilbert Curtessi. His presentation gave a personal insight into the highlights and low-points of running his company, Happy Shrimp farm, which he founded and unfortunately saw go under. His positive approach and perseverance meant he went on to start an Industrial Ecology program at the university. Sustainability means moving forward too!
Four short and dynamic presentations from Freedom of Creation, OAT Shoes, Ik Tank Thuis, and Dnamo followed. The Sustainable Dance Floor underfoot became more intensely red as the end of the presentations approached. All the speakers were then available for questions and discussions at their stands in the next room.
Throughout the day the bar bubbled with ideas and there was plenty of drinking, talking and deal making done by all. Meanwhile, Lucky Dubz & TheLonious ensured everyone ended the evening on a high, making the most of the Sustainable Dance Floor. CleanDrinks Rotterdam was great fun and brought together a network of like-minded people, who together, have the potential to build a brighter and more sustainable future. We hope the next CleanDrinks event attracts even more new faces to further extend this network, and in turn, its potential.
