WELIOS SCIENCE CENTRE
Project description
SDC developed a unique energy exhibit for the Welios Science Centre. The brief was to create an interactive and fun, high tech installation that educates youngsters about energy and electricity. How much exercise must I do to burn the calories contained in a Mars bar? How hard do I have to jump and dance to power a LED light bulb?
Interaction and energy experience
We installed nine SDF modules in a small room and connected them to a master control unit, a computer, a low energy consuming sound system, special LED lights on the ceiling, a digital energy display on the wall and a LED energy tower.

Visitors to the museum activate the music by stepping onto the floor. The aim is to reach 100% capacity on the LED energy tower. During the challenge information pops up on the digital energy meter screen to show the amount of Watts and Joules produced and what could be done with that amount of energy (e.g. play 1 song on your Ipod). When the LED energy tower reaches 100% a specially designed lightshow begins.
If you are in Austria make sure you visit this unique museum. It promises to be a fun and informative exhibit.
